Privacy

Who can see your album, how long the files stay, how the consent step works and how to get rid of things again.

Two of these are often confused. Consent is an optional step before the first upload, switched off unless you turn it on, and it settles whether you as the host may use what guests send. Retention is a different thing entirely: it decides how long the files exist at all.

The retention clock runs whether or not anybody opens the album. It is shown with the event, and once it has run out the media is gone — on our side as well as yours. So downloading is not tidying up afterwards; it is the point.

The formal wording lives on the privacy page in the footer. These articles are about what actually happens and which switch changes it.
