Request your data, or its deletion
Deleting is the one action you can take yourself: a single photo from the gallery, a whole event from the event, and the account from the bottom of your account settings, all of it immediate.
Everything else — a copy of what is held about you, a correction, or a request a guest has passed on to you — reaches us as a message, and one person works through it rather than a shared inbox.
What you can do yourself
3 removals need nobody but you. A single photo comes out from the gallery of its event, a whole event goes from the event itself, and the account goes from the bottom of your account settings, where the button asks you to type your email address first. None of the 3 waits on us and none of them sits in a queue.
Work upward from the smallest one. A photo is rarely the same problem as an account. Business accounts are the one exception: they cannot be closed from the settings page, so that request comes to us as well.
- Check whether it is yours to do. Removing a photo, an event or the account needs nobody but you.
- Send a message for everything else. There is no request form, and none is coming through the settings page today.
- Name the event and roughly when. That is enough to find it without anything sensitive changing hands.
| You want | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 photo gone | The gallery of that event | Out of the album and out of every later download |
| 1 event gone | The event itself | The event goes, and its uploads with it |
| The account gone | Account settings | Immediate, and it takes every event with it |
| A copy of your data | A message to us | A person answers |
| Something corrected | A message to us | A person answers |
3 of the 5 are already in your hands. The other 2 are what the message is for.
What comes to us instead
There is no self-service form for a data request. Asking for a copy of what is held about you, asking for a detail to be corrected, or asking on behalf of a guest all travel the same way: as a message. It is logged the day it arrives and assigned to a person, and a 30-day marker tracks it internally rather than standing as a promise to you.
The export button on the settings page is not switched on yet, so do not sit and wait on it. A message is the working route today.
What a guest cannot do alone
Guests upload without an account. There is no personal area where they could find their own contributions again, and no signed-in identity that could show a file belongs to them. A guest request therefore lands with you, the host of that album, and you are the only person who can carry it out.
Do it quickly when it comes. Somebody who has to ask twice sends nothing to the next album.
Deleting is not hiding
When somebody asks for a contribution to be removed, hiding it is not what was meant. Hiding takes a photo out of the shared album and keeps the file with you, ready to be shown again later. Deleting takes it out of the album and out of every download made from then on.
A removal request means the second one. Reach for hide when you are tidying, and for delete when you were asked.
What to put in the message
The event name, roughly when it was created or paid for, and what you want to happen. That is enough for us to find the right album, and it means nothing sensitive has to change hands. We never ask for a password or a card number, and you should never send one.
If the request is about a guest upload, the rough time of that upload narrows it down further.
The clock that runs anyway
Every album has a retention window, and removal follows 14 days after that window ends. It runs whether anybody asks or not, so a question about when something disappears already has a date attached to it, shown with the event.
The same clock cuts the other way. Anything you want to keep has to be downloaded before it runs out, because afterwards there is nothing on our side to hand back.
Where the formal wording is
The privacy page linked in the footer sets out what is processed and on what basis. That is the binding text, and it is the right place for a question a help article should not be paraphrasing. This page only describes the route a request actually takes.
If something you need is missing there, write to us rather than reading it out of this page.
Common questions
Is there a button for requesting my data?
No. Send us a message and a person works through it.
Can I delete my account myself?
Yes. The button is at the bottom of your account settings and it takes effect immediately.
Can a guest delete their own upload?
No. Guests have no account, so the request comes to you as the host.
Is hiding enough when somebody asks for a removal?
No. Hiding keeps the file with you. Deleting is what was meant.
How long does a request take?
It is logged the day it arrives and assigned to a person. A 30-day marker tracks it on our side; that is a working target, not a commitment.
I have a business account.
Business accounts cannot be closed from the settings page. Send that one to us.
Delete your account, or ask for your data

A guest album for a party
What guests send, and what runs through you.
Your case is not on this page
Send it to us with the event name and roughly when it happened. A person reads it and answers you directly.
