What a signature is good for

After the party the question arises over who one particular photo is from. Without a name it can't be answered, since guests upload with no account. The signature fills that gap with minimal effort: a first name, voluntary, after sending.

For a thank-you that's enough. Sorting 60 contributions, you know the recipient instead of guessing.

1. Switch the question on. In the event settings, for the guest page. It kicks in for the next guest who opens it.
2. Let guests sign. The field shows up after sending. Anybody who would rather not stays anonymous with 1 tap.
3. Read the names. The signature rests with the contribution on the dashboard. The guest may edit or remove it right after sending.

Voluntary, and not a sign-in

The question deliberately follows sending not before. Skipping it still leaves the upload done, so it loses no uploads. Staying anonymous is an equal answer instead of an evasion, and blank is the standard state.

A signature isn't an identity. There's no account behind it and nothing is verified. It's a signature, as binding as one in a guest book.

It applies for the whole evening

Once set, the page passes the signature on to everything the same guest sends afterward, saying so outright. Somebody who signs at 9 and sends 5 more photos at midnight doesn't need to type again.

Changing and removing it share one screen. After that the contribution appears unnamed again.

What does not fit in it

The field allows at most 40 characters and intended for a first name, not a message. Links get rejected, and the page warns you as it's typed. Anybody wanting to tell the hosts something should use the voice note, where it belongs.

At a company event the page prefills name and company; at a sports event a bib number or a name. The suggestion follows the event type.

The name on the live wall

If your live wall runs in the room, the signature can show up on it. That's why to handle it like any other contribution: what's on the screen is seen by everybody. In the wall settings you determine whether name and time, time only, or nothing is shown.

With the review step running you'll spot the signature together with the contribution before approving it.

Switch it on, or leave it off?

Turn it on if you want to say thank you afterward or label the album later. Leave it off if each extra step is 1 too many and the photos may stand on their own. Both are defensible; only attributing them afterward is impossible.

If you're unsure, turn it on. A skipped step costs nothing, a missing name can't be recovered.
