Someone forwarded your event link
Access belongs to the link, not to a person, and there’s no guest list to remove anyone from. So a forwarded link opens the same page an invitation does, for whoever it lands on. The 2 controls that act at once both sit in the Album tab, behind the chip that reads Public or Private: switch the album off, or put a password in front of it.
Neither one reaches a copy somebody’s already saved, and neither retires the code itself. A custom link on Grand ($99) is added beside the printed code rather than replacing it, and the printed code keeps working.
What can I close in the next minute?
2 controls act the moment you tap them, and both live in the same place: open the Album tab and click the chip that reads Public or Private. Switching Album public off makes the link show nothing at all. Adding a password leaves the album where it is and asks 4 characters of anyone who arrives.
Neither one touches what your guests have already sent. Your album sits intact behind both of them, and going back is the same click the other way.
- Close the album. Album tab, the chip that reads Public or Private, then the Album public switch. After that the link doesn’t show anyone anything.
- Or set a password. Same panel, at least 4 characters. It guards the album page and the live wall together, because both run on the printed code.
- Clear what is already inside. Hide anything you’ll want back later. Delete anything that should be gone from every future download.
- Decide about new uploads. Switch the event to review before publishing, or archive it in Settings to close the upload page for good.
Why does the link work for whoever holds it?
Guests never sign in, so holding the address is the entire credential. That lets a room of people contribute in 10 seconds without installing anything, and it is what makes a forward land. The upload page even carries a button that passes the link on, by design.
Who was invited stopped counting the moment the link moved. What matters now is who holds the address, and every control below hits all of them at once.
Will a new link retire the old one?
No. Nothing in the product takes a code out of service, which is where hosts arriving from a photo app with a reset-link button get caught. A custom link is an addition: on Grand it claims a second address for the same event, and the original code keeps resolving to the same page.
The reason’s sitting on your tables. Codes live on printed cards, signs and invitations, and retiring one would strand every guest who scans it. Close the door with the album switch or the password instead.
What does the album password actually stop?
It guards the album page and the live wall, which run on the same public code, and it asks before a single photo loads. The minimum is 4 characters. It’s a separate setting from the download password, which only gates taking the files away.
Typing the password issues a pass that lasts 12 hours, so a wall on a venue screen keeps running all evening without asking again. Changing the password or removing it doesn’t cancel a pass already issued.
How do I take a single photo out?
Open the album grid and choose between hiding and deleting. Hiding pulls a file out of the shared album and out of guest downloads while it stays in your dashboard. Deleting is terminal: the file leaves the album and every later download, and its item slot and its storage go back to your plan.
The stored file itself goes in a cleanup pass that runs every 10 minutes. Selecting in bulk handles up to 200 files in one action, which beats working down a grid by hand.
What can none of it undo?
Someone who already opened a photo has seen it, and a file already on a phone stays on that phone. No switch reaches either. An upload that started before you closed the door can still land, because the address a guest was handed for that file stays valid for up to 1 hour.
Guest downloads of the original files are off until you switch them on, so that door is shut by default. Tell the guests you do want what you changed, or they’ll report the album as broken.

Common questions
Can I block 1 person?
No. There’s no guest list to remove anyone from, so every control here applies to everyone holding the link at once.
Does switching the album off stop uploads too?
No. Viewing and uploading are separate. Archiving the event in Settings is what closes the upload page.
Does changing the password lock out someone already inside?
Not immediately. A pass issued when the old password was typed stays valid for 12 hours.
Can I get back a photo someone downloaded?
No. Deleting removes it from the album and from every later download, never from their device.
Do guests get the original files?
Only if you switched guest downloads on. That setting’s off until you change it.
