The 3 ways out

Download all takes the entire approved event, a type filter grabs just the photos, only the videos or just the voice notes, and a selection takes precisely what you checked. Each yields a zip; the difference is only what goes in it.

One file can also be viewed directly, which is faster than a ZIP when you want 1 photo for a message.

1. Decide the scope first. Entire event, one kind, or a selection. It switches what you check, not how you download.
2. Select what you want. Select all loaded selects up everything right now on screen; scroll and repeat for more.
3. Download the selection. The ZIP is built from precisely what you checked, in the order the files landed.

The type filter is the one folks forget, and it's what turns a 9 GB download into a 400 MB one.

Why filter to photos

Video rules the size of almost any album. Filtering to photos covers the part you want for a print job or a photo book without waiting for a few gigabytes of footage you aren't going to use.

You can always come back for the videos later, provided the album is still within its window.

Working with a selection

Select all loaded checks everything right now displayed instead of the entire album, so with a long list you scroll and repeat. That's deliberate: it means the button never quietly selects 800 files you hadn't looked at.

A selection ZIP is built from precisely what you checked, so it's worth a glance at the count before you start it.

The quality is the same either way

Each route hands you the original file. The archive holds instead of recompresses, so a photo that leaves a selection is byte for byte the one from Download all.

That also implies a smaller scope is smaller in count alone, not in per-file quality.

How the files are named and ordered

Files come out in the order they landed, oldest first. That's upload order, not the order the photos were taken — a photographer s batch sent weeks later rests at the back even if the shots are from the day itself.

If chronological-by-capture matters to you, sort on the file s own date after unpacking instead of expecting the archive to do it.
